SMALLER SCALE OBJECTS 2008
INTRODUCTION
These sculptures were inspired by two one-week glass courses taught by Martin Rosol and Mark Matthews, both glass artists of international reputation. A number of the beautiful designs pictured here are their conception, executed by me with their consent -- although perhaps not with their skill.
The color available from the hxtal gluing technique (Martin Rosol), and the cane work (Mark Matthews) are seductive in the extreme. Most of these works are smaller than a closed fist, but are as powerful as those of the larger work -- a mark I think of memorable sculpture at any scale.
