INTRODUCTION
This body of work was inspired by the 1968 British television mini-series of the same name starring Patrick McGoohan.
The Prisoner -- known only as “Number 6” -- is a former government agent held captive by unknown forces (“Number 1” who is never seen, and “Number 2”, commandant of the secret compound known as “The Village”) -- without hope, communication to the outside world, or legal recourse.
