EARTH ART 2008-2009
INTRODUCTION
Earth Art (or Land Art/Environmental Art) has long held a special fascination for me. Most of the “classic” land art, with some notable exceptions (see especially Charles Ross’s “Star Axis” under construction for over 35 years) was conceived and executed in the 1970’s.
The following glass sculptures were inspired by onsite visits by my wonderful wife Connie and myself during 2008-2009. Each is a homage to the “original” land art artist., without which the world would be very much poorer.
I hope you enjoy these sculptural interpretations of the classic land art icons -- in their cast glass “incarnations”.
