This piece was inspired by a trip to Santa Fe last year (2013) when the entire western part of the United States seemed to be on fire.  What a tragic year for so many people, and of course the environment.  I fear we will continue to see many more years of increasingly violent climate fluctuations unless the world and especially the United States and China can get their climate acts/policies together...
